Background

Sporting Futures Training cic/UK Ltd established 2011, is a company that has developed through nationally recognised good practice involving the development of the Home-Grown Coaching work force within the Stevenage School Sports Partnership.

The Directors Jill Eaton and Jo Pountney have both been involved in developing personalised learning pathways and delivering sporting accreditations for individuals since 2011 in an Apprenticeship capacity.

We have a team of specialist experienced Teachers,  Senior Staff from Primary and Secondary Schools, Assessors and IQA’s who support and mentor our Learners  on our Apprenticeship programs.

The flexibility and experience of our team coupled with our extensive school network allows us to deliver High Quality training for our Apprentices with high levels of achievement success.

Sporting Futures Training has accredited centre status for the delivery of Active IQ, NCFE, Cache, Highfields and 1st4Sport qualifications.

Information For Schools / Employers

Owing to the continuing interest from all schools with regards to employing Apprentices and working with Sporting Futures Training, we would like to give you a brief overview of the Apprenticeship programs that we deliver

Please be aware that whilst we started with the delivery of PE Specific programs, we do also use our educational specialisms to successfully deliver a variety of Apprenticeship Standards.

We can work with schools to ensure they fully utilise their Apprenticeship levy to the benefit of their school.

Please bear in mind in all cases the 20% Off The Job Training Provision is built into the delivery of ALL Apprenticeships.

With regards to the PE delivery, we pride ourselves on being a Sport Specific Training Provider and work through the PE and School Sports networks that used to be known as the School Sports Partnership Networks.

Timelines for recruitment and employment can be given along with many additional supporting documents to ensure the path to employing your first Apprentice is as straightforward as possible.

PE and School Sport Information

Roles:

  • Supporting the delivery of Physical Activity, PE and School Sport
  • Supporting and working alongside Teachers during lessons
  • Helping within the classroom
  • Supporting the Health, well-being of young people
  • Delivering warm- ups and small groups within PE Lessons.
  • Delivering health related activities in school setting.
  • Supporting and working towards delivery of small projects such as Daily Mile, Physical Activity projects/programmes
  • Helping to support youngsters returning to a structured day following the covid-19 situation
  • Supporting the organisation and Delivery of School Sport Competition – within school and the community.

Our Apprentices become invaluable  Team members within your school and this has been reflected in the way in which they have supported their Employers during this National crisis through supporting delivery to Keyworkers children.

Apprentices become  involved with the wider delivery of  Physical Activity, PE and School Sport. Gaining an understanding of the work delivered within National Governing Bodies, Youth Sport Trust and County Sports Partnerships and pathways are always at the heart of  our Apprentice journeys with experiences and opportunities to further their development and sporting career paths.

With an  enjoyment of sport and working with young people and a desire to gain valuable experience working within both a school and community setting, the Sporting Futures Training Apprenticeships offer a quality opportunity for individuals.
We currently have over 230 Apprentices within our schools across the UK and delivery involves working with a Lead local Hub-site to deliver a high quality program for both the learners and Employers.

Our apprentices are based within schools and work 30 hrs a week with training being delivered within their Hub-site setting with the Apprentice Lead Tutors.
Whilst the role involves working within a school setting and supporting the delivery of Health and well-being agendas, physical Activity, Physical Education and school sport.
The wider community role involves working within the local PE and school sports network to deliver competition for all the schools within the area.
